What is StockZip?
StockZip is a mobile-first inventory management application built for small businesses that manage real physical stock. It lets teams scan barcodes using a phone camera or Bluetooth scanner to check items in or out, track stock levels across multiple locations, and receive low-stock alerts — without spreadsheets, paper logs, or complex ERP systems.
The product is designed around a three-step workflow: scan an item, choose check in or check out, and confirm. No typing, no folders to navigate, no training required.
Why we built StockZip
StockZip exists because inventory work rarely happens at a desk. Parts sit in vans, tools move between jobs, shelves get counted after hours, and the person who notices a low-stock problem is often holding a phone, not a laptop.
The product keeps the workflow intentionally narrow: scan, update, sync, and leave a record. That is why StockZip emphasizes offline scanning, folder-based locations, check-in/check-out, low-stock alerts, CSV migration, and audit history instead of a large ERP-style rollout.
Founder and team

Edmund Tong
Founder, StockZip.app
Edmund Tong is the Founder of StockZip.app, an inventory management app designed to help small businesses move beyond spreadsheets without the complexity of traditional ERP systems. With an Information Technology degree, experience as CEO of a manufacturing and distribution business since 2011, and as founder of software company Simplify Standards since 2017, Edmund brings both technical and operational experience to the product.
StockZip.app was built from a real-world problem he saw repeatedly: most businesses do not need complicated software — they need a simple, reliable way for workers to scan items, update stock, and keep inventory accurate.

How StockZip compares
StockZip vs Sortly
StockZip offers lower pricing, a simpler interface, and a stronger offline mode. Sortly has more visual and photo-based features.
StockZip vs inFlow
StockZip is faster to set up with no training required. inFlow has more advanced manufacturing and bill-of-materials features.
StockZip vs spreadsheets
StockZip provides real-time multi-user stock tracking with barcode scanning. Spreadsheets require manual updates and become inaccurate when inventory moves away from the desk.
